             In
art, as in her advertising work, Preeti Vyas Giannetti’s compelling
instinct has always been to keep it simple: to express an idea
without frills; to strip away everything extraneous. In fact she’d
never really been interested in art direction, but in expressing
            ideas.
Her visual genius has earned her a firm place as one of the top
creative heads in the business, but the artist within was revealed
when Benson & Hedges assigned her to create four paintings. Painting
is only a natural extension of Preeti’s broad communication design
capabilities - the only thing that she does completely for herself.

She’s painted over the years but never worked hard to sell any of
her her paintings. In fact when friends dropped in at her house,
they often thought that the paintings on the walls were by other
artists when they were actually hers.
She has a number of passionate collectors of her work; corporate
houses such as Hindalco have purchased her paintings. Even without
her holding a solo exhibition, the free wine and cheese. She’s also
been invited for several group shows - by the Birla gallery, the
Concern India foundation, and Melange. Even CRY selected one of her
paintings - a depiction of Lord Ganesh - for their greeting cards.
She has used as a canvas newspapers, crockery, nooks and crevices in
her home and workplace. She finds that the incongruity of placing
fine art in these gritty surroundings is precisely the point.
